Laboratory Safety Training

Laboratory Training

All individuals working in Princeton University laboratories, paid or unpaid, including faculty, staff, students and visitors, must attend Laboratory Safety Training provided by Environmental Health and Safety. Attendance at similar laboratory safety training provided by other institutions does not satisfy this requirement.

Laboratory Supervisor Training

Individuals with laboratory supervisory responsibilities, including principal investigators and laboratory managers, must receive a Laboratory Supervisor briefing provided by Environmental Health and Safety, outlining their responsibility for safety management in their laboratories. New appointees in Science and Engineering departments receive this training individually within the first month of their arrival.

Laboratory workers and supervisors refusing to attend such training will be referred to the University Research Board.
