Fines attendant on regulatory violations (e.g., OSHA, EPA, etc.) will be assessed against the responsible operating departments. The chair of the Environmental, Safety and Risk Management Committee (ESRM) is responsible for the assessment of any fines to the responsible department. Appeals from the decision of ESRM may be made to the chair and, failing mutually satisfactory resolution, appeals may then be carried to the Provost.
