Unmanned Aircraft Systems

Research and recreational use of small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS), including drones and model airplanes, falls under the Princeton sUAS Policy. All use of such devices on campus is subject to formal approval by the University.

The University maintains airspace restrictions for flying sUAS on campus, outlined here. FAA regulations also govern the manner and location of such flights. sUAS users must register with the FAA before flying aircraft.

Information on rules and regulations, registration, approval, permitted uses and other important matters is available at Princeton’s Unmanned Aircraft Systems website
