Students, staff and faculty who work with laboratory animals and animal products are at risk for exposure to certain proteins. These proteins, also known as allergens, can trigger an allergic reaction in a small subset of animal workers and may lead to the development of other serious conditions such as asthma. Read the Prevention of Allergies and Asthma fact sheet to learn more about your risk factors and how to prevent the development of symptoms. If you are experiencing allergy symptoms that you believe could be related to your research, contact: Employee Health: 609-258-5035 Staff Meagan Fitzpatrick Biosafety Officer609-258-6258 Karen Li Interim Director of Occupational Health 609-258-7355
