Don't be spooked by biosafety! Join us on Oct. 29 from 10-2 in the Icahn Laboratory Atrium for the latest event in our Safest series of traveling safety road shows. 

International Biosafety Month highlights best research practices for those working in the life sciences. The annual event began years ago as “National Biosafety Stewardship Month” and we continue to promote the ethos of stewardship in our support and advisement of researchers across the University. 

The event will include:

• Informative exhibits on waste management, shipping, and more
• Interactive activities and demonstrations
• Games: bean bag toss and a crossword contest
• Coffee and pastries
• Raffle prizes
• Giveaways including fun branded merchandize
• Idea board - share your ideas for making the laboratory safer!

EHS staffers will be on hand to answer your questions about hazardous materials shipping, proper disposal of biological wastes, working in a biosafety cabinet, registering with the IBC and initiatives around signage and notification regarding specific laboratory hazards. 

Crossword Promotion

EHS invites all comers to attempt the biosafety crossword. Fill out the crossword, bring it to the event and be entered into a raffle to win a Lego biosafety cabinet sure to be a conversation piece at your desk or lab bench!
