General Information All sharps containers should be properly closed before being placed in bag and labeled RMW. No loose sharps are permitted outside of the sharps containers.Serological pipettes should be collected in sharp containers, bio-bin pipette safe keepers or buckets lined with two autoclavable bags.RMW supplies are available at receiving or stockrooms (boxes, red bags and RMW labels).BSL-2 waste must be autoclaved prior to disposal. RMW Step 1: Tape Box Tape bottom end-to-end with 2” wide clear packing tape.Reinforce with perpendicular taping. RMW Step 2: Line Box With Red Bag Make sure the bag is fully draped over the sides and cannot collapse in on itself. RMW Step 3: Dispose of Waste in Bag Do not overfill. RMW Step 4: Tie Up and Label Bag Tie the red biohazard bag firmly with knot.Affix RMW label to bag. RMW Step 5: Seal Top and Label Box Tape top end-to-end with reinforcing tape in same manner as bottom.Apply label to side of box.
